John Mather

John was born on February 9th, 1763 in Little Bolton and his baptism took place on March 5th, 1763 at Bank Street Unitarian conducted by Reverend Philip Holland.¹²

- Assumed to be a few years older than 21 when married in 1791. Probably the son of John and Jenny, born 1763, as second daughter was named Jenny.

John's father was John Mather and his mother was Jennet (Jenny) Hamer. His paternal grandparents were Peter Mather and Elizabeth (Betty) Cranwhaw. He had two sisters named Betty and Jenny. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died before 1841 in Salford.

Death Notes
- Died before 1841, and wife Elizabeth shown as Widow (and then crossed out as not an occupation).
  
  Elizabeth was with her son-in-law in Salford, so probably John died in Salford (unconfirmed)

General Notes
- John recorded as a weaver on the 1791 mrriage record to Betty Suttcliff. They had a daugher Jenny which points towards this being the right marriage.
