John Mather

John was born in 1800 in Little Bolton and his christening took place on June 1st, 1800 at St. Mary (Deane).¹

  John Son of Joseph & Mary Mather of Little Bolton

John's father was Joseph (Joshua) Mather and his mother was Mary Thorp. His paternal grandparents were William Mather and Betty Holt. He had a brother and four sisters, named Thomas, Joseph, Betsy, Sarah and Hannah. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 88 in March 1888 in Bolton.²
