James Mather

James was born in February 1808 in Billinge and his baptism took place on February 14th, 1808 at St. Aidan (Billinge).¹

James' father was Henry Mather and his mother was Betty Anderton.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Hannah Cross. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, Richard, Richard, Henry, James, Mary, Hannah and Hannah.  He was the second youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 1 in July 1809 in Billinge.  He was buried on July 31st, 1809 at St. Aidan (Billinge).¹
