Esther Mather

Esther was born on June 2nd, 1840 in Bolton and her baptism took place on November 1st, 1857 at St. Andrew's (Bolton).¹²

Esther's father was James Mather and her mother was Mercy Grime. Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Happy Lomax; her maternal grandparents were William Grime and Mary Grime. She had a brother and two sisters, named William, Ellen and Mary. She was the youngest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, Samuel and Jane. She died at the age of 30 in September 1870 in Walmersley. Her burial was on September 16th, 1870 at St. Paul (Bury).³⁴
