Ellen Mather

Ellen was born in 1835 in Bolton and her baptism took place on June 7th, 1835 at St. Peter's (Bolton) conducted by Curate C A Hunt.¹²

Ellen's father was James Mather and her mother was Mercy Grime. Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Happy Lomax; her maternal grandparents were William Grime and Mary Grime. She had a brother and two sisters, named William, Mary and Esther. She was the second oldest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, Samuel and Jane. She died at the age of 23 in 1858 in Bolton.³
