Ellis Mather

Ellis was born in November 1805 in Little Hulton and his baptism took place on March 9th, 1806 in Worsley.¹

Ellis' father was Ellis Mather and his mother was Ann Thornley. His paternal grandparents were Edmund (Edwin) Mather and Mary <unknown>. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named James, William, John, Thomas, Peter, Charles, David, Moses, Betty, Alice and Betty. He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 72 in June 1878 in Bolton.²
