Catherine was born on May 26th, 1833 in Bolton.1  Catherine's father was William Mather and her mother was Helen (Ellen) Cunliffe.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Hannah Knowles; her maternal grandparents were James Cunliffe and Ann Gibson. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Robert, Samuel, Nathan, William, Anne and Elizabeth. She had an adopted sister named Hannah.  She died at 11 months old in April 1834 in Belmont.  She was buried on April 13th, 1834 at Walmsley Presbyterian.2
