Ann was born in 1862 in Adlington and her baptism took place on August 31st, 1862 at Christ Church (Adlington).¹

Birth Notes

Ann's father was James Mather and her mother was Elizabeth Ratcliffe. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Amy (Amey or Emy) Worsley. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Isaac, Thomas, Nathan, Mary, Ellen, Sarah, Margaret, Alice and Elizabeth. She was the fifth oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 1 in 1863 in Adlington.²
