Lois' father was Leonard Mason and her mother was Annie Shuttleworth. Her maternal grandparents were Samuel Shuttleworth and Lois Pollitt. She had a brother, and also a sibling of unknown gender named Harold and (infant). She was the oldest of the three children. She died due to a cardiac arrest, 1(a) Pulmonary Oedema, (b) Congestive Cardiac Failure, (c) Atrial Fibrillation, at the age of 80 on February 7th, 2000 in Farnworth.³
