Lois' father was William Pollitt and her mother was Esther Holt. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Pollitt and Mary Davenport; her maternal grandparents were James Holt and Fanny Hamer. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Miles, Elijah, Albert, Mary and Emily. She was the fourth oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 68 on January 24th, 1926 in Bolton. Her burial was on January 28th, 1926 in Astley Bridge.²¹
