Townley was born on December 22nd, 1868 in Tottington.¹

Birth Notes

Townley's father was James Isherwood and his mother was Nancy Farnworth. His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Isherwood and Ann Mather. He had five brothers and four sisters, named John, William, James, Arthur, Ernest, Alice, Annie, Margaret and Clara. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 59 on May 8th, 1928.
