Betty was born in September 1797 in Quarlton and her baptism took place on September 9th, 1797 at St. Anne (Turton).1  Betty's father was John Isherwood and her mother was Betty Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Betty Flitcroft. She had eight brothers and a sister, named James, Thomas, James, John, Harry, William, Richard, John and Mally.  She was the fourth oldest of the ten known children.  She died at the age of 26 in June 1824 in Middle Hulton.  She was buried on June 8th, 1824 at St. Mary (Deane).
