Charles was born in 1830 in Farndon.1   Charles' father was Samuel Hopley and his mother was Mary Saunders.  His paternal grandparents were Charles Hopley and Mary Poovah. He had a brother and two sisters, named Thomas, Emma and Ann.  He was the second youngest of the four children. He had a half-brother named John.  He died at the age of 78 in 1908 in Holt.2 




Charles' first family with Elizabeth Penk

‌Charles and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony in 1849 in Shocklach.3  They had a daughter named Emma.  There are no more children.

‌Charles and Mary were married.  They had two sons and a daughter, named William, Samuel and Mary.  There are no more children.
