Minnie's father was William Higgins and her mother was Minnie (Annie) Eddowes.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Eddowes and Mary Ann Hughes. She had five brothers and a sister, named Bernard, William, John, Harold, Arthur and Bessie.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 89 in June 1992 in Wrexham.²
