Ethel Hamer 
Ethel was born in 1889 in Bolton.1 Ethel's father was James Cunliffe Hamer and her mother was Happy Collings. Her paternal grandparents were Peter Hamer and Elizabeth (Betsy) Cunliffe; her maternal grandparents were John Collings and Sarah Williams. She had six sisters named Sarah, Mary, Emma, Happy, Maria and Eva. She was the youngest of the seven children.-
