Happy Collings

Happy was born in June 1847 in Bolton and her christening took place there on August 22nd, 1847.¹²

Happy's father was John Collings and her mother was Sarah Williams. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William, Edmund, George, Ellen, Harriet and Mary. She was the sixth oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 75 in May 1923 in Bolton. Her burial was on May 17th, 1923.³⁴

- Happy was possibly named after Happy Mather, the sister of Samuel Mather. In 1871 James Cuncliffe Hamer and Happy Hamer were neighbours of Samuel and Ann Mather.
  
  In 1851, Happy (Appy) Collinge (5) was at 70 Turton Street with parents John and Sarah (37 & 39) and 4 other siblings.
  
  In 1861, Happy Collings (14) was with parents John and Sarah (47 & 37) and brothers George (11) and step-son James (11).
