Mary Ann Collins

Mary was born in March 1838 in Little Bolton and her christening took place on July 26th, 1840 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹²

Mary's father was John Collings and her mother was Sarah Williams. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William, Edmund, George, Ellen, Harriet and Happy. She was the third oldest of the seven children.

- Birth registered as Mary A Collins, but only ever known as Mary.
  
  On 30 Aug 1858, Mary Collins (dau of John a waste dealer) married Robert Parkington (or Parkinson, also a Waste Dealer, son of William) at St John's, Bolton (the church the family used)

- Mary had some other social relationship with William Collings.

    - Mary and William were christened on the same day, although Mary was born a few years earlier.
      They were the only two children alive in 1i841
