James Cunliffe

- James was possibly baptised at Bolton, son of James and Ann. There do not appear to be any other siblings from Bolton. More likely though he as the son of William Cunliff and Susanna Booth (as both uses Bank Street and he has a daughter Susannah).
  
  James Cunliffe was a School Master. He son John was also a School Master at Bolton.
  
  James was married to Ellen (Nelly) Hill (or Hall). Several birth records record the mother's maiden name as HILL. Also on Alice's birth, it is shown as HALL and they lived at Astley Bridge.
  
  In 1819, Nelly and James had a daughter Mary. James was a School Master.
  
  25 Jan 1825, James Cunliffe married Maria Hall at St Peter's, Bolton by license. James was a widower.
