General Notes
When died Ellen die? In 1825 when James re-married he was a widow. However, in 1822, daughter Ellen's mother was Maria, so had Ellen died, or had James abandoned her? In 1813, daughter Alice also has mothe's name as HALL rather than Hill. There is no death nrecord with James named as the husband.
Nelly was possibly buried in 1818 or 1821 at Wardleworth, the daughter of James Hill.

Nelly and James were married in a religious ceremony on June 18th, 1806 in Bolton by Vicar Thomas Bancroft.1 They had four daughters named Betsy, Alice, Susanna and Mary. There are no more children.
