John Dod-Hopley

John was born on October 26th, 1811 in Cheshire and his baptism took place on March 4th, 1812 in Farndon.¹²

John's father was Robert Dod-Hopley and his mother was Ann Hopley. His paternal grandparents were William John Dod-Hopley and Hannah Hopley; his maternal grandparents were Charles Hopley and Mary Poovah. He had a brother and six sisters, named Robert, Ann, Harriet, Elizabeth, Hannah, Robert and Amelia. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died about 1866 in Lancashire.

Death Notes
- Was missing by 1871, when Robert Dod-Hopley had taken over family farm at Billinge. Sisters Ann, Harriett and Amelia were all still present, so looks like John had died between 1861 and 1871

General Notes
- John (unmarried) was at Finch House, Halewood in 1851. A farmer of 80 acres. His sisters Harriet, Elizabeth and Amelia were with him.
