Elizabeth was born in 1817 in Clutton and her baptism took place on June 2nd, 1817 at St. Chad (Farndon).¹

Birth Notes

Elizabeth's father was Robert Dod-Hopley and her mother was Ann Hopley. Her paternal grandparents were William John Dod-Hopley and Hannah Hopley; her maternal grandparents were Charles Hopley and Mary Poovah. She had two brothers and five sisters, named John, Robert, Ann, Harriet, Hannah, Robert and Amelia. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
