Robert Dod-Hopley

Robert was born in 1789 in Farndon.¹

  Aged 72 in 1861, Farmer in Billinge
  Aged 72 when died in 1862
  
  Probably sister Christian Hopley Dod. She is the Dauther of John and Hannah Hopley of Clutton Baptised 13 Jan 1788, Farndon (and buried 7 June 1793). Mr John Hopley Dod (assumed to be the father) of Clutton in Farndon and buried 16 June 1793.
  
  Not the Robert Hopley, 31 Jul 1791 of Shocklach, Cheshire
  Thes is another family, and this Robert died a bachelor in 1853.
  
  Not the Robert Hopley, 11 Jun 1782 of Malpas (same parents)
  This was an older brother who died and buried 07-Feb-1787
  Therefore this Robert must be born after 1787

Robert's father was William John Dod-Hopley and his mother was Hannah Hopley. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Randle, Robert, Rebecca, Anne and Christian. He was the youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 73 in March 1862 in Upholland.²

- Robert Hopley Dod (or DODD)
  
  In 1841, Robert, Ann and family are at "Calvey Hall" (probably Calveley Hall). This is at Milton Green, 1 Km north of Handley. Handley is adjacent on the 1841 census return.
  
  Robert must be a sucessful farmer, as they have 6 children and 5 servants.
  
  In 1861, Robert and Ann (74 & 72) were in Lancashire with John (46), Ann (40), Elizabeth (36) and Amelia (28) and three of Randle's children.
  
  Robert Hopley Dodd died at Upholland in Q1 1862, aged 82.
