    Probably sister Christian Hopley Dod. She is the Dauther of John and Hannah Hopley of Clutton Baptised 13 Jan 1788, Farndon (and buried 7 June 1793).  Mr John Hopley Dod (assumed to be the father) of Clutton in Farndon and buried 16 June 1793.
    
    Not the Robert Hopley, 31 Jul 1791 of Shocklach, Cheshire
    Thes is another family, and this Robert died a bachelor in 1853.
    
    Not the Robert Hopley, 11 Jun 1782 of Malpas (same parents)
    This was an older brother who died and buried 07-Feb-1787
    Therefore this Robert must be born after 1787
    

He died at the age of 73 in March 1862 in Upholland.³

Ann Hopley
Ann was born in 1791 in Farndon and her baptism took place on November 4th, 1792 in Shocklach.^4 5

She died at the age of 71 in September 1862 in Birkenhead.  Her burial was on September 14th, 1862 in Shocklach.⁶

  • Ann Hopley of Birkenhead was buried at Shocklach, 14 Sep 1862, aged 74 years.  Could this be her, as she was at Kings Moss Farm, Bilinge, Lancashire the previous year in 1861 with her husband Robert and family? 
    
    This death was registered at Eastham (1862, EAS/8/37, age 74).  Other deaths at Eastham, suggest this could have been the Mother of Martha (1817-1885) and Samuel Hopley (1822-1895)
    
    There are no Hopley families registered on the Birkenhead census for 1861, so it probably is her as age matches.
    
    Another theory is that Ann married John Hough in 1826 and later died in Ashton Under Lyne, buried 4 Sep 1864, aged 72. However, Robet and Ann Hopley are still together on the 1841 census.
