Births are registered as COLLINGS (Elizabeth, Sarah, Joseph and George) and COLLINS (Maria and Samuel). GOLLINGS is correct and on all the census records.
In 1844 son William was born before their marriage. Births are then registered in West Bolton as a mix of COLLINS (for Maria and Samuel) and COLLINGE (for the others).
1 Jan 1846, Joseph Collings son of William (both Carters)married Ann Taylor, daughter of George Taylor at St Peter's, Bolton. John Bromiley was witness.
In 1851, Joseph and Ann (26 & 27) were at 7 Gas Street, Bolton with William (7) and Maria (4).
In 1861, Joseph and Ann (33 & 34) are at 18 Garside Street with William (16), Maria (14), Sarah (6), John (4), Joseph (2) and Samule (4 mo)
