Ellen's father was Benjamin Buckley and her mother was Patience (Patricia) Oldham. Her paternal grandparents were John Buckley and Mary Crook; her maternal grandparents were Samuel Oldham and Sarah Hewitt. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named Henry, Silas, Arthur, Sarah, Martha, Mary, Emma, Edith, Beattie and Sarah. She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 88 in 1948 in New Jersey (NJ). Her burial was in 1948 in New Jersey (NJ).³

      The whole family (all sons and daughters) are still there in 1871, now called Guide Lane again.
      
      In 1881, the house number is also recorded (as 42). Only Patiens and the 4 youngest children, Ellen, Edith, Bertrice, and Silas remain.
