Charles' father was George Brooks and his mother was Agnes Almond. His paternal grandparents were Charles Brooks and Ann Price. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, William, George, Robert, Harriet, Mary, Eliza, Annie and Alice. He was the nineth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 76 on November 16th, 1992 in Massachusetts (MA).²
