Martha was born on January 21st, 1871 in Victoria (Au).1  Martha's father was Thomas Brereton and her mother was Anne Brereton.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Brereton and Martha Hughes; her maternal grandparents were Richard Brereton and (Elizabeth) Ellen Lea. She had three brothers named Elisha, Richard and John.  She was the youngest of the four children.  She died at the age of 90 on August 18th, 1961 in NSW.1

‌Martha and David were married in a religious ceremony on June 13th, 1900 in Victoria (Au).2   They had three sons and two daughters, named Lindsay, Thomas, David, Ruby and Dora.
