Mary Bottomley 
Mary was born in 1828 in Upperthong.1 Mary's father was Joshua Bottomley and her mother was Hannah Crosland. Her maternal grandparents were Daniel Crosland and Mary Kinder. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named John, Firth, Wright, Edward, Appleyard, Wilson, Joseph, Jane, Emma and Eliza. She was the oldest of the eleven children.-
