Acording to his letter to uncle Joseph Stocks, James and Alice had a son, Walter Boothroyd and a baby Mary in 1875 and was living at Ashton-Under-Lyne. This is confirmed by the census records.
James stayed in Ashton and married Alice, whilst the other members of the family probably emigrated to the USA.

James lived at 25 Kenworthy Street from 1851.2He lived at 40 Kenworthy Street from 1861.3
