8 Feb 1843, William Boothroyd was an overlooker and a widower when he married Mary Stocks, both of Oldham Road. His father was also William (deceased in 1843). Mary's sister Ellen Stocks was witness.
In 1851, William (37), a Grocer and Tea Dealer and Mary (32) were at 25 Newworthy Street, Dukinfield with James (4) and William H (1)
There is no trace of William and Mary and their family William, George and Sarah E after 1861. Perhaps they emigrated to the USA with the other members of the family (his son William H Boothroyd emigrated in 1872).
