Lydia was born in January 1850 at Park Gate.  Lydia's father was George Blackburn and her mother was Martha Sykes.  Her paternal grandparents were Michael Blackburn and Hannah Eastwood. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Jonathan, John, George, Hannah and Elizabeth.  She was the fifth oldest of the six children. She had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Henry, Joseph, Michael, Hannah, Mary and Ellen.  She died at the age of 4 in June 1854 at Park Gate.
