Jane was born in August 1838 in Holcombe.¹

Birth Notes

Jane's father was Thomas Barlow and her mother was Betty (Elizabeth) Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Ann Entwistle. She had four brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Robert, James, John and Ann. She was the third oldest of the six children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William and Maria. She died as an infant at the age of 1 in 1839 in Holcombe.¹
