Dorothy was born on March 8th, 1923 in Nuneaton, Warwickshire and her baptism took place on March 29th, 1923 in St.Mary Abbey Church, Nuneaton, Warwickshire.1  Dorothy's father was John Thomas LONG and her mother was Maggie HALL.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert LONG and Sarah PEARCE; her maternal grandparents were George HALL and Margaret Crowley SHILTON. She had four brothers and four sisters, named John, Stanley, Reginald, George, Grace, Maggie, Lily and Beatrice.  She was the fourth youngest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 83 on January 8th, 2007 in George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton, Warwickshire.  The funeral took place on January 17th, 2007 in Heart of England Crematorium, Nuneaton, Warwickshire and was arranged by Co-operative Funeralcare, Nuneaton.
