William Orr

William was born on March 15th, 1786 in Wythville,VA.¹   William's father was Alexander Orr and his mother was Margaret Peggy Ramsey.  His paternal grandfather was Arthur Orr. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named John, Robert, James, Andrew, Alexander, David, Patrick, Elizabeth, Mary Polly, Mary Margaret and Nancy M.  He was the second oldest of the twelve children. He had three half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named William, Hugh, Alexander Jr, Margaret Peggy, Jane, Elizabeth, Martha, Mary Polly, Nancy and Isabel(Lolia)(Ila)Orr.  He died at the age of 71 on November 20th, 1857 in Polk Co., TN.  He was buried on November 20th, 1857 in Orr/Ladd Cemetery, Polk Co., TN.^2 1
