Baron Hugh le Despenser 
Hugh was born about 1286. Hugh's father was Earl Hugh ("the Elder") de Spencer III of Winchester and his mother was Countess Isabel de Beauchamp of Winchester. His paternal grandfather was Hugh de Spencer II and his paternal grandmother is Aline Aliva Basset; his maternal grandparents were Earl William de Beauchamp of Warwick and Maud FitzJohn. He had a brother and a sister, named Philip and Isabel. He was the second oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Walter and Maud.
