Richiza was born on April 12th, 1106 in Krakaow, Poland.  Richiza's father was King Boleslaw ("Wrymouth", "Crooked Mouth") III of Poland and her mother was Countess Salome de Berg-Schelklingen.  Her paternal grandparents were Prince Wladyslaw I Herman and Princess Judita I of Bohemia; her maternal grandfather was Count Heinrich I of Berg-Schelklingen and her maternal grandmother is Adelheid von Mochental. She had two brothers and two sisters, named "the Great", Kazimierez, Judyta and Agnieszka. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named "the Exile" and Agnes.  She died after December 25th, 1155.

‌Richiza and Vladimir Dmitrij were married in a religious ceremony on June 5th, 1135 in Krakaow, Poland.  They had a daughter named Sofiya.
