George Jefferson Keahey 
George Jefferson was born in 1845 in Mississippi.1 George Jefferson's father was John Robert Jackson Keahey and his mother was Martha Slay. His paternal grandparents were George Jackson Keahey and Margaret Keahey; his maternal grandparents were John Slay and Elizabeth Sumerall. He had six brothers and four sisters, named William, Alvia Wiggin, John Thomas, James A., Joseph Henry, Benjamin Franklin, Margaret, Amanda Jane, Frances Indiana and Martha. He died at the age of 44 on November 28th, 1889 in Rockwall, Texas.1 General Notes
