Martha Slay 
Martha was born in 1821 in MS.1 Martha's father was John Slay and her mother was Elizabeth Sumerall. She was an only child. She died at the age of 70 on May 9th, 1891 in Rockwall, Texas. She was buried in Lawhorn Cemetery, Rockwall, Texas.1 1 General Notes

‌Martha and John Robert Jackson were married in a religious ceremony on February 24th, 1842 in Scott Co., Mississippi.1 They had seven sons and four daughters, named William, George Jefferson, Alvia Wiggin, John Thomas, James A., Joseph Henry, Benjamin Franklin, Margaret, Amanda Jane, Frances Indiana and Martha.
