Frances Indiana was born on April 20th, 1854 in Scott Co. , Mississippi.1 Frances Indiana's father was John Robert Jackson Keahey and her mother was Martha Slay. Her paternal grandparents were George Jackson Keahey and Margaret Keahey; her maternal grandparents were John Slay and Elizabeth Sumerall. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named William, George Jefferson, Alvia Wiggin, John Thomas, James A., Joseph Henry, Benjamin Franklin, Margaret, Amanda Jane and Martha.
