Annie was born in 1835 in Virginia.1 Annie's father was Thomas W. Meadows and her mother was Elizabeth Breeding. Her paternal grandparents were James Meadows and Catherine Boswell. She had six brothers and five sisters, named Mitchell, James, Thomas W., Emanuel, William T., Henry, Jane S., Elizabeth, Francis E., Mary Catherine and Harriett Clementine. She is the sixth youngest of the twelve children.-
