James Berdie McEwen 
James Berdie was born on December 11th, 1895 in Coosa Co., AL.1 James Berdie's father was William Powell McEwen and his mother was Martha Georgiana Adams. His paternal grandparents were George Washington McEwen and Mary Catherine Sears; his maternal grandparents were William Henry Cidney Adams and Lucy Frances Carriker. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named William Vernie, Vernie May, Stewart Washington, George Samuels, Charles Edward, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Tera Anderson, Lilla Maye, Annie Belle, Mary Lucy and Effie Lee. He was the fifth youngest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 70 on December 14th, 1965 in Elmore Co., AL.
