George Samuels was born on August 2nd, 1889 in Coosa Co., AL.1 George Samuels' father was William Powell McEwen and his mother was Martha Georgiana Adams. His paternal grandparents were George Washington McEwen and Mary Catherine Sears; his maternal grandparents were William Henry Cidney Adams and Lucy Frances Carriker. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named William Vernie, Vernie May, Stewart Washington, Charles Edward, Thomas Jefferson, James Berdie, John Adams, Tera Anderson, Lilla Maye, Annie Belle, Mary Lucy and Effie Lee. He was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 56 on May 6th, 1946 in Talladega Co., AL.
