James Garrett 
James was born on August 23rd, 1771 in Laurens County, South Carolina.1 James' father was Edward II Garrett and his mother was Ann West Ousley. His paternal grandparents were Edward I Garrett and Elizabeth Catlett. He had seven brothers and seven sisters, named John, William, Nicholas Ware, Jesse, Sr., Stephen, Hosea, Edward III, Elizabeth, Frances Fannie, Rhoda, Dorcus, Mary, Martha and Irene Kiziah. He was the eighth oldest of the fifteen children. He died at the age of 40 in April 1812.1 -
