John was born about 1675 in New Kent, VA.1 John's father was John* Garrett and his mother was Elizabeth* Ware. His paternal grandparents were John* Garrett and UNKNOWN Mary*; his maternal grandparents were Peter* Ware and Mary* Hicks. He had five brothers and a sister, named Nicholas, Robert, Thomas, Humphrey*, William and Elizabeth. He died in 1728 in Safford Co., VA.1 
John and Frances Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony before 1698 in VA.1 They had a son named Robert.
