Ocie Lafayette was born on February 16th, 1887 in Coosa Co., AL.1 Ocie Lafayette's father was John William Bridges and his mother was Martha Ada Wilson. His paternal grandparents were William Bridges and Delila Jane Jacks; his maternal grandparents were James Wilson and Martha R. Davis. He had two brothers named Lonnie Howard and William Archie. He was the oldest of the three children. He had four half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named Thomas Alvin, John William, Jr., Binford, Moody, Myrtle, Trudy S., Marzie Cordie, R. V., Foye, Neola Gray and Janie Ophilia. He died at the age of 76 on May 2nd, 1963 in West Monroe, Ouchita Parish, LA.1 General Notes

Ocie had a glass eye. His daughter, Mozelle Warren, said that while he
was working as a carpenter a nail hit him in the eye.
Tera Mozelle informed me, Ron Bridges on 15 June 2002 via phone, that her
father went to Coosa Co., AL when he was about 20 years old and visited
his Uncle Alvin L. Bridges for little over a year. He wanted to see his
relatives in Coosa Co., AL so that he could get to know them better and
see the sites.
