Marzie Cordie was born on May 22nd, 1904 in Downsville, Union Parish, LA.1 Marzie Cordie's father was John William Bridges and her mother was Stella Skains. Her paternal grandparents were William Bridges and Delila Jane Jacks; her maternal grandparents were Thomas A. Skains and Bertha Honeycutt. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Thomas Alvin, John William, Jr., Binford, Moody, Myrtle, Trudy S., R. V., Foye, Neola Gray and Janie Ophilia. She was the third oldest of the eleven children. She had three half-brothers named Ocie Lafayette, Lonnie Howard and William Archie. She died at the age of 94 on May 25th, 1998 in LA.1 -
