Living's father was Evie Davis, Sr. Bridges and her mother was Emma Catherine Miller. Her paternal grandparents were Alvin Lafayette Bridges and Mary Virginia Wilson; her maternal grandparents were James Alexander Miller and Emma Jane McEwen. She had a brother and two sisters, named Evie Davis, Jr., Mary Ruth and Martha Mabel.-
