William Combest 
William was born in 1853 in Russell County, Kentucky.1 William's father was Wiley Combest and his mother was Martha Hammond. His paternal grandparents were Samuel D. Combest and Sarah Dick; his maternal grandparents were John Hammond and Margaret Peggy Wilson. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Thomas Riley, James William, Lewis L., Infant Son, Infant Son, Gilla Ann, Patsy M., Eliza M. and Mary C.. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named John Wiley, Samuel Josiah, Barton, George and Sarah Jane.1 -
