Infant Son was born on November 24th, 1852 in Russell County, Kentucky.1 Infant Son's father was Wiley Combest and his mother was Martha Hammond. His paternal grandparents were Samuel D. Combest and Sarah Dick; his maternal grandparents were John Hammond and Margaret Peggy Wilson. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Thomas Riley, James William, Lewis L., William, Infant Son, Gilla Ann, Patsy M., Eliza M. and Mary C.. He was the fifth youngest of the ten children. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named John Wiley, Samuel Josiah, Barton, George and Sarah Jane.1 General Notes
