Samuel was born on December 31st, 1819 in Sumner Co., TN. Samuel 's father was William Henry ANDERSON and his mother was Margaret "Peggy" PATTON. His paternal grandparents were Joseph ANDERSON and Mary ALBERTSON; his maternal grandparents were John Irwin . PATTON and Mary "Polly" WILSON. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Alfred Phillip, Albert Spencer "Bird", Patton, James , Pacneil , John W. , Elizabeth, Mary , Rachael M and Margaret Rose. He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 66 on September 24th, 1886 in Marion Co., TN.General Notes
